This diet was originally developed in the 1950’s and was published in The Lancet, a leading medical journal, but has been virtually ignored by medical and scientific authorities since then.

It has the potential to virtually eliminate obesity, by effecting a weight loss which occurs only in the abnormal fat – such as hips, tummy, waist, back, upper arms, and thighs. It does this by regulating the master gland of the body, the hypothalamus, so that hunger and weight are balanced. It not only removes the fat from the fat cells, but appears to destroy the fat cells themselves, along with their supporting infrastructure (blood vessels, lymph vessels, etc). This makes it easy to keep the weight off, once the diet has ended.

The whole point of this diet is to address the underlying causes of unhealthy weight gain. Many overweight people eat a normal calorie intake, or even subsist on the verge of starvation, yet the roll of fat around the tummy or the padding on the hips persists, year after year. Surely there is more to the story than “excess calories in = excess fat”! The missing factor is regulation, which is done by the master gland, the hypothalamus.

Please note that, in case you're wondering, at Chiron Health Care we don't use or dispense any hormones.

This 6-week diet is not for everyone.

To be successful, you must have these characteristics:

  • Disciplined in short spurts (can withstand 3 weeks at a time)
  • Genuinely motivated to lose weight and keep it off
  • Have at least 3 kg abnormal fat to lose
  • No problem with repetition of similar dishes

It does not work for people with these characteristics:

  • Don't take rules seriously, or rebel against rules
  • Have a history of food and eating issues (anorexia, bullimia, strong emotional eating patterns, binge eating).
  • Unable to take time out from social activities while dieting
  • Vegetarian or vegan
  • Not interested in maintaining healthy eating habits
  • Must have variety
  • Only a small amount of weight to lose, and no significant abnormal fat stores. Note: There is no way to get too skinny on this diet. If you are underweight already, this diet may make you gain weight.
  • On diuretics or thyroid medication, or have certain illnesses such as gout
  • Candida overgrowth in bowel or other body region (if this is the case, you will need a short treatment before beginning the diet).

This is a no-nonsense diet, for losing abnormal fat (eg, waist, hips,  thighs, upper arms) quickly and keeping it off. There are 3 stages to the diet, and the rules of each stage must be strictly adhered to, in order to obtain the maximum benefit.

Having said all of this, the rewards for following the rules strictly are overwhelming and quick. On average, overweight people usually lose

  • ½ kg per day, and
  • 1 cm around the widest (fattest) area for each kilogram of fat lost.
  • The weight is lost only from areas of abnormal fat. Structural fat (eg, face) is left looking natural and healthy. The overall effect is a re-sculpting of the body so that the proportions are more normal.

All of this happens from the first day of calorie restriction.

Structure of diet

The structure of the diet is as follows:

  • First stage – pig-out for 2 days while taking the bioresonance drops, to gain structural fat (ie, in your face, and cushioning your organs, etc) and to build up the effect of the homeopathic drops.
  • Second stage – weight reduction  - strict calorie control for at least 23 days, at no more than 500 calories a day, while taking the bioresonance drops. Choices of foods are limited, so seasonings will come in handy. During this period, you will be exhilarated by the quick weight loss, feel mentally alert, cheerful, and not hungry. This is due to the effect of the bioresonance drops.
  • Third stage – high protein, for at least 21 days, no bioresonance drops.  Increase the calories to maintain the new weight, but avoid all sugar and starch. Double the protein intake, aiming for 100 grams pure protein per day. This stage stabilises your weight at the new level.

During the first two stages (pig-out and weight reduction), you will be taking bioresonance drops, which are the key to the success of the diet. These drops ensure that

  • the fat you lose comes from the abnormal fat stores (eg, waistline, hips, thighs, upper arms, back), and
  • you do not suffer from hunger, since  the fat being broken down from the fat stores provides more than enough calories to maintain your normal activities.

Note: the bioresonance drops do not contain hormones!

You will take 8 drops, three times a day, spaced out as much as is convenient. For example, 8am-2pm-8pm. If you forget to take the drops, you may feel hunger and may not liberate as much fat as you could have on that day.

How does it work?

Regulation of the hypothalamus

  • If the hypothalamus is out of balance, you can gain weight even if you eat very few calories.
  • Once the hypothalamus is in balance, your appetite and hormones will be more balanced and your body can cope with the occasional fluctuation in calories.

Breakdown of fat cells, as opposed to removal of fat from these cells

  • Another interesting aspect of the diet is that the fat cells seem to be physically broken down, not just emptied of their contents.
  • Because of this, it’s harder to regain the fat after the diet is finished.[1] If it happens that fat is regained, it will not be in the usual problem area, but rather, spread over the body more evenly.

Bioresonance drops

  • As stated earlier, the key to the diet is the bioresonance drops, which encourage a regulation of the master gland (the hypothalamus).
  • The drops contain only water, a small amount of medical grade ethanol (as a preservative), and a proprietary blend of bioresonance vibrations, which interact with the energy system of the body, and bring about a normalisation of appetite and metabolism. The drops do not contain hormones.
  • These drops are the reason the hypothalamus goes back into balance. They are the reason the fat comes off of only the abnormal fat stores.
  • The fat that is removed from the abnormal fat stores is used as calories to give you energy during the weight-reduction stage. That’s why you don’t feel unreasonably hungry, and your energy levels do not decrease to a low ebb.

Does it really work? My experiences and conclusions

I trialled this diet myself, then recruited several male and female testers, and was astonished by the rapid weight loss and lack of hunger in the weight reduction phase. All testers were mentally alert, cheerful, and able to function normally during the entire diet.

I didn't take an official "before" picture because I wasn't expecting much from the diet. This one was taken 2 months before I started the Metabolic Makeover diet. And yes, that's me 7 kgs smaller. I was able to get back into a pair of pants I used to wear in the 70's. Don't I look pleased! Note: these photos are NOT retouched. In the time since I tested it, I've put many clients on the diet with similar results.

Concerning the lack of hunger -- Everyone is different. I've noticed that a small percentage of people experience mild hunger up until the 3rd or 4th day of the weight reduction stage. This seems to be because they didn't eat enough during the "pig out" days. The solution is to eat konnyaku as often as possible in these early days, and also to drink plenty of water or tea (preferably herbal).

I continue to be impressed by the way it selectively removes fat, leaving the structural fat and melting away only the fat that needs to go, including cellulite. Yes, cellulite!

People look so much younger when their doublechin suddenly disappears. See the pictures of David, below. The Metabolic Makeover certainly lives up to the statement about resculpting the body.

My clients have reported all sorts of wonderful side-effects, such as improved sleep patterns, better quality sleep, pain disappearing (even pain that wasn't related to carrying extra weight), normalising of body temperature and perspiration, improved blood pressure, and other effects too varied to mention. This makes perfect sense bDavid's profile on 12 Sept 2010 and on 4th October 2010.ecause the diet is all about regulation, the underlying cause of obesity.

The weight-reduction stage requires strict discipline, but the quick results keep the motivation high and it's worth every bit of effort! It should be noted that even the slightest deviation from the rules sacrifices some of the weight loss normally seen on the following day. (Going off the diet completely for a day will set you back approximately 3-4 days - ouch!) Therefore, the booklet must be read and re-read several times throughout the diet to ensure that you get the best results.

After the weight-reduction stage, the high protein stage

Front view of face on 12 Sept 2010 and on 4th October 2010.

was a breeze, and going off the diet at the end was just a gentler version of the high protein stage.

The weight did not return when normal eating was resumed. The occasional excess had no longterm

effect as long as we compensated with conservative sized meals in the next few days.

[1] However, keep in  mind that a consistently sugary or starchy diet will eventually lead to weight gain, since sugar is one of the factors that dysregulates the hypothalamus.
